With over 200 years of combined experience in the mining industry, our leadership team is well equipped to execute MAG’s strategy of science-based exploration while maintaining strong oversight of our cornerstone asset, Juanicipio, and delivering the best value for our shareholders and stakeholders alike.

Management Team

George Paspalas

President, Chief Executive Officer & Director

Mr. Paspalas joined MAG in October 2013. Formerly, Mr. Paspalas was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Aurizon Mines, Chief Operating Officer of Silver Standard Resources Inc., and President and Chief Executive Officer of Placer Dome Africa, among many operational and project development roles with Placer Dome. During his career, Mr. Paspalas has been responsible for constructing and operating complex, open pit and underground mines in South Africa, Tanzania, Australia, South America and Canada. Mr. Paspalas earned a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 1984. Mr. Paspalas is also a CGIC Accredited Director.
Fausto Di Trapani

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Di Trapani commenced his career in public practice before transitioning to the mining industry in progressively senior finance roles with BHP Billiton, Norilsk Nickel and Mantra Resources. Most recently, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Galiano Gold Inc., responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial operations, treasury, taxation, internal audit, IT systems and risk management. Mr. Di Trapani was a key member in the financing, operational readiness, construction, operations and eventual joint venturing of the Asanko Gold Mine in Ghana, West Africa. He has been at the forefront of numerous debt and equity financings, multinational tax restructurings and complex contract negotiations at various stages of mining development and has played a pivotal role in transformational merger and acquisition transactions. Mr. Di Trapani holds an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Sciences degree and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Jim Mallory

Chief Sustainability Officer

Mr. Mallory has more than 44 years of experience in the mining sector, in mineral processing, operations, management and senior leadership roles. Formerly, Mr. Mallory has served as VP in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability roles for First Majestic Silver, Primero Mining, South American Silver and Silver Standard Resources. He is fluent in Spanish and his knowledge of Latin American culture and local stakeholder engagement has contributed to the advancement of sustainability strategies, community participation agreements and exploration and mining activity in Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and most recently Mexico. Mr. Mallory began his career with Placer Dome Inc., dedicating almost 29 years to their operations in British Columbia and Chile, before transitioning from operations to sustainable development roles in the late 90s. Mr. Mallory is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and an advisor to SOOP Strategies, a boutique consultancy firm specializing in sustainability services and reporting for the mining sector.
Marc Turcotte

Chief Development Officer

Mr. Turcotte joined MAG in 2015 and has two decades of experience working in the natural resource sector. These experiences include field work, project development and management, trading and negotiating long-term commodity contracts, asset evaluations, joint ventures, divestures, M&A, IPO/RTOs, and numerous debt and equity financings in multiple jurisdictions. Before joining MAG, Mr. Turcotte was the Director of Corporate Development for Hecla Mining Company and prior to that, the Director of Corporate Development for Aurizon Mines Ltd. Mr. Turcotte received his Bachelor of Science in Resource Economics (Honours) from the University of British Columbia and MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
Dr. Lex Lambeck

Vice President, Exploration

Dr. Lex Lambeck, C.P.G., has a Ph.D. in geology from Adelaide University, Australia and more than 25 years of relevant experience focused on gold, silver and base metal exploration in Australia, Mexico and Canada. He is a certified Professional Geologist by the American Institute of Professional Geologists. Dr. Lambeck's leadership has been instrumental in the application of the "Hub and Spoke" thesis at Deer Trail and the Carissa discovery. His expertise in generative exploration in district-scale settings is valuable for overseeing the Company's portfolio of exploration properties, including the Larder Project in the Abitibi and Juanicipio, Mexico.
Jill Neff

Vice President, Governance and Corporate Secretary

Ms. Neff brings over 16 years of corporate secretarial, corporate governance and securities regulatory experience to MAG, where 12 of those years focused on public companies within the mining industry. Most recently, Ms. Neff served as Corporate Secretary of Sierra Metals Inc., a position which she held since 2013. Prior to that, she was Corporate Secretary for a number of other publicly listed companies, including WPC Resources Inc. (now Blue Star Gold Corp.) and TTM Resources Inc. Ms. Neff completed the Paralegal Diploma Program at Capilano University in 2004 and began her career as a Securities Paralegal in national law firms including Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and Goodmans LLP. Ms. Neff is a certified CGIC Accredited Director.
Michael Curlook

Vice President, Investor Relations and Communications

Mr. Curlook is currently the Vice President of Investor Relations and Communications at MAG Silver Corp. He was born in Sudbury, ON and represents a third generation in the mining industry, attended the University of Western Ontario for Business Administration and recently received his CPIR designation and his ACC.DIR. He has extensive experience in investor relations, business development, sales & marketing, in senior positions at private and diversified public companies, with a particular focus on mining. His productivity emphasis has been; initiating and cultivating institutional relationships, speaking at conferences, numerous equity financings, developing/revamping IR programs to best practices conformity, and communicating with the research, investment banking, sales and broker communities. Previously, he was Head of Investor Relations and Communications at Great Basin Gold Ltd, Manager of Investor Relations of Farallon Mining/Hunter Dickinson Inc. Mr. Curlook is a Director of (CIRI) Canadian Investor Relations Institute BC Chapter, and a CGIC Accredited Director.
Gary Methven

Vice President, Technical Services

Mr. Methven is a skilled mining professional with experience in the mining industry spanning three decades. His expertise includes deep level underground mining, long term mine planning, project management and consulting. He has managed technical and operational teams in deep-level precious metal underground mines and, in his more recent capacity as Principal Mining Engineer and Underground Manager for AMC Mining Consultants (Canada), has led technical and trade-off studies, authored technical reports, estimated and audited mineral reserves, and led operational due diligence for companies operating all over the world. Prior to joining MAG, Mr. Methven held several operational and consulting positions at Xtract, Hatch, Newmont, Gold Fields and Anglo American. Mr. Methven holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and is a practicing Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists, British Columbia.

Dr. Peter Megaw

Exploration Consultant

Dr. Peter Megaw, C.P.G., has a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Arizona and more than 40 years of relevant experience focused on silver and gold exploration in Mexico. He is a certified Professional Geologist by the American Institute of Professional Geologists and an Arizona Registered Geologist. Dr. Megaw has been instrumental in a number of mineral discoveries in Mexico including new ore bodies at existing mines, Excellon Resources’ Platosa Mine, and MAG Silver’s Juanicipio and Cinco de Mayo properties; discoveries for which he was given PDAC’s 2016 Thayer Lindsley Award. Peter is the author of numerous scientific publications on ore deposits and is a frequent speaker at academic and international exploration and mineralogical conferences.
